33 weeks on Friday!

On Friday I will be 33 weeks along. So that means I have about 7 weeks (+ or-) before my guess (due) date. Kind of crazy to think about the fact that she could be here that soon. We have finally begun working on her room. Jeff is on his last coat of paint for baby mabry's room and I am almost done with art work for it too. Yep, I am working on some art work for her room. I know you are all thinking, " I didn't know Stephanie was an artist". Well, I am not, but I am trying. I painted some birds. You will have to see how it turned out when I post pics of her room. I got the bird idea from the baby shower invites my mom did online for our shower. Other than that we are still looking for a dresser that we will use as a changing table/dresser. Once we get that I think that we will be pretty well set as far as her room goes. I can't wait to get everything together. However, we still have other things to get. Oh well, when the time comes we will get it.
On the other hand Jeff and I have started our classes with Hypnobabies. Last Friday was our first class and it was very successful. We both left feeling deeply relaxed, it was a great way to end a week. The class was from 6-9 which sounded rather long, however the class went really fast and we not only learned about the Hypnobabies birthing process but we also learned about other things that go along with the birth process. So it is a class about teaching yourself how to become deeply relaxed and how the whole process works. Our next class is Friday, so hopefully it continues to go well. Hypnobabies is a birthing process that teaches deep relaxation techniques so that you can have a more enjoyable and painless birth! Which sounds good to me. I will have to let you know how it goes.
On Monday I went for another appointment. Every 2 weeks!! Everything is still going well. And her head has now moved down. Sharon my midwife also said that baby Mabry went through a growth spurt the last two weeks. Which I kind of knew since it seems like every day when I wake up she has grown. Or maybe I have just grown. But everything looks good. We are still on track for March 13th!

I have also posted a pic and info about the development of little Mabry. So if you want you can read a little more about her development. How exciting!

Your baby now weighs about 4.2 pounds/ 2 kilograms and measures approximately 17 inches/ 44 centimetres from head to toe. Your baby should already be getting ready for birth by turning upside-down -- his head should be pointing down.

Your doctor or midwife will be paying careful attention to your baby's position in the coming weeks -- some babies do decide to turn back round again.

Your baby's skull is still quite pliable and not completely joined, so he can ease out of the relatively narrow birth canal. But the bones in the rest of his body are hardening. Your baby's skin is also gradually becoming less red and wrinkled.

Thats it for now. I hope you are enjoying my posts. Every once in awhile.

Baby at 30 weeks!

Here is a little bit more information on how Baby Mabry is forming and I thought you might enjoy reading about her and where she is in her development in my Tummy!

Your baby's lungs and digestive tract are almost fully developed. While your baby may soon slow up growing in length, (he measures about 15.7 inches/ 40 centimetres from crown to toe by now), he will continue to gain weight until he's born. This week your baby continues to open and shut his eyes. He can probably see what's going on in utero, distinguish light from dark and even track a light source. If you shine a light on your stomach, your baby may move his head to follow the light or even reach out to touch the moving glow. Some researchers think baring your stomach to light stimulates visual development. But don't expect 20/20 vision when your baby is born -- newborns can see a distance of only about 8 to 12 inches/ 20 to 30 centimetres. (Children with normal vision don't reach 20/20 vision until about age 7 to 9.) To complete the picture, your baby now has eyebrows and eyelashes.
A pint and a half/ around a litre of amniotic fluid now surrounds your baby but that volume decreases as he gets bigger and has less room in your uterus. As you and the baby continue to grow, don't be alarmed if you feel breathless, as if you can't get enough air; it's just your uterus pressing against your diaphragm. There is a light at the end of the tunnel though. At about 34 weeks (or just before birth, if this is your second or third pregnancy), your baby's head will move down into your pelvis as the baby gets into the right position for birth. That will make breathing and eating a lot easier.

I hope you enjoyed reading a little bit more about Baby Mabry!

30 or 32 weeks!

So yesterday I went and saw my midwife Sharon and she measured me at 32 weeks. But I am only 30 weeks. She didn't seem too worried about it. So that is good. I am hoping that it is just because I am short and little baby girl Mabry has no where to grow but out! Other than that Sharon said that everything is looking good. Baby Mabry's heart sounds good and my diabetes testing came back good. And other than a little ankle swelling and back pain all is good. The picture of me above was from yesterday.

On the other hand Christmas was good. We stuck around Indianapolis for Christmas day and spent that time with my family. My brother was home from the Navy so we had a good time hanging out with him and the rest of my family. The day after Christmas we went to Oklahoma to be with Jeff's family and spent about a week there. We had a great time and enjoyed spending time with everyone while we were there. Also, when we were there we were blessed with a lot of baby girl items. Here is a picture of her room after we got back from Oklahoma.

I know it looks like a disaster but in a short time the walls will be a sage green and the crib will be up, her bird decorations will be on the walls and she will be here. It is crazy to think that she could be here in a short 10 weeks. But at the same time we are so excited. We still need to get her a car seat so we can get her home. Because we probably won't be able to take her come home if I told them we don't have one yet. HA...So we will be getting that soon. Anywhoo....we can't wait for the little bundle of joy. I am getting my class ready for when I am on maternity leave and we are both getting ready for the day when she comes. How exciting!
