33 weeks on Friday!

On Friday I will be 33 weeks along. So that means I have about 7 weeks (+ or-) before my guess (due) date. Kind of crazy to think about the fact that she could be here that soon. We have finally begun working on her room. Jeff is on his last coat of paint for baby mabry's room and I am almost done with art work for it too. Yep, I am working on some art work for her room. I know you are all thinking, " I didn't know Stephanie was an artist". Well, I am not, but I am trying. I painted some birds. You will have to see how it turned out when I post pics of her room. I got the bird idea from the baby shower invites my mom did online for our shower. Other than that we are still looking for a dresser that we will use as a changing table/dresser. Once we get that I think that we will be pretty well set as far as her room goes. I can't wait to get everything together. However, we still have other things to get. Oh well, when the time comes we will get it.
On the other hand Jeff and I have started our classes with Hypnobabies. Last Friday was our first class and it was very successful. We both left feeling deeply relaxed, it was a great way to end a week. The class was from 6-9 which sounded rather long, however the class went really fast and we not only learned about the Hypnobabies birthing process but we also learned about other things that go along with the birth process. So it is a class about teaching yourself how to become deeply relaxed and how the whole process works. Our next class is Friday, so hopefully it continues to go well. Hypnobabies is a birthing process that teaches deep relaxation techniques so that you can have a more enjoyable and painless birth! Which sounds good to me. I will have to let you know how it goes.
On Monday I went for another appointment. Every 2 weeks!! Everything is still going well. And her head has now moved down. Sharon my midwife also said that baby Mabry went through a growth spurt the last two weeks. Which I kind of knew since it seems like every day when I wake up she has grown. Or maybe I have just grown. But everything looks good. We are still on track for March 13th!

I have also posted a pic and info about the development of little Mabry. So if you want you can read a little more about her development. How exciting!

Your baby now weighs about 4.2 pounds/ 2 kilograms and measures approximately 17 inches/ 44 centimetres from head to toe. Your baby should already be getting ready for birth by turning upside-down -- his head should be pointing down.

Your doctor or midwife will be paying careful attention to your baby's position in the coming weeks -- some babies do decide to turn back round again.

Your baby's skull is still quite pliable and not completely joined, so he can ease out of the relatively narrow birth canal. But the bones in the rest of his body are hardening. Your baby's skin is also gradually becoming less red and wrinkled.

Thats it for now. I hope you are enjoying my posts. Every once in awhile.

Baby at 30 weeks!

Here is a little bit more information on how Baby Mabry is forming and I thought you might enjoy reading about her and where she is in her development in my Tummy!

Your baby's lungs and digestive tract are almost fully developed. While your baby may soon slow up growing in length, (he measures about 15.7 inches/ 40 centimetres from crown to toe by now), he will continue to gain weight until he's born. This week your baby continues to open and shut his eyes. He can probably see what's going on in utero, distinguish light from dark and even track a light source. If you shine a light on your stomach, your baby may move his head to follow the light or even reach out to touch the moving glow. Some researchers think baring your stomach to light stimulates visual development. But don't expect 20/20 vision when your baby is born -- newborns can see a distance of only about 8 to 12 inches/ 20 to 30 centimetres. (Children with normal vision don't reach 20/20 vision until about age 7 to 9.) To complete the picture, your baby now has eyebrows and eyelashes.
A pint and a half/ around a litre of amniotic fluid now surrounds your baby but that volume decreases as he gets bigger and has less room in your uterus. As you and the baby continue to grow, don't be alarmed if you feel breathless, as if you can't get enough air; it's just your uterus pressing against your diaphragm. There is a light at the end of the tunnel though. At about 34 weeks (or just before birth, if this is your second or third pregnancy), your baby's head will move down into your pelvis as the baby gets into the right position for birth. That will make breathing and eating a lot easier.

I hope you enjoyed reading a little bit more about Baby Mabry!

30 or 32 weeks!

So yesterday I went and saw my midwife Sharon and she measured me at 32 weeks. But I am only 30 weeks. She didn't seem too worried about it. So that is good. I am hoping that it is just because I am short and little baby girl Mabry has no where to grow but out! Other than that Sharon said that everything is looking good. Baby Mabry's heart sounds good and my diabetes testing came back good. And other than a little ankle swelling and back pain all is good. The picture of me above was from yesterday.

On the other hand Christmas was good. We stuck around Indianapolis for Christmas day and spent that time with my family. My brother was home from the Navy so we had a good time hanging out with him and the rest of my family. The day after Christmas we went to Oklahoma to be with Jeff's family and spent about a week there. We had a great time and enjoyed spending time with everyone while we were there. Also, when we were there we were blessed with a lot of baby girl items. Here is a picture of her room after we got back from Oklahoma.

I know it looks like a disaster but in a short time the walls will be a sage green and the crib will be up, her bird decorations will be on the walls and she will be here. It is crazy to think that she could be here in a short 10 weeks. But at the same time we are so excited. We still need to get her a car seat so we can get her home. Because we probably won't be able to take her come home if I told them we don't have one yet. HA...So we will be getting that soon. Anywhoo....we can't wait for the little bundle of joy. I am getting my class ready for when I am on maternity leave and we are both getting ready for the day when she comes. How exciting!

Baby Pics!!!

I know it is about time...I am finally posting pics of the baby Mabry to be! These were pictures from my ultrasound at 20 weeks and now I am 28 weeks so she probably looks totally different! Wow how fast 8 weeks goes by. But you can see in these pictures her little profile and that she is a girl. SHE HAS NO WEE WEE! I go to see my midwife on Monday(tomorrow the 22nd of December) for another appointment. I have to go through the lovely diabetes testing and get a shot because I my blood type is A -. Anywhooo...Should be a great time... We also have signed up for our child birthing classes. We are using the hypnobabies method. Which is a way of natural birth that uses deep relaxation and music to help you get through the process. Our classes begin in January. So I will have to let you know how that goes. Supposedly when you use this method of child birth, you have little or no PAIN!! Sounds good to me. I have decided to look at this birth situation as marathon I am training for. I know that when you train for a marathon you have to look at it in steps. You walk, run, walk, run when you train. So if I can just remember to run and than walk and breath in between as I reach my goal. Or sometimes I think about mailboxes. I know that when I am running I use my mind a lot to sike me out by saying if I just make it to the next mailbox than I will be able to walk... I think if I look at it in steps it will be a good Marathon in the end. Continually trying to get to the next mailbox. And the amazing part of it all, is that in the end I will reach the greatest mailbox of all, a baby Girl to cuddle and love on. I will update my blog tomorrow again with how the appointment went and maybe I preggo pic or two!

Kicking Room

On Friday Jeff and I went out to eat with some of his co workers.  As I looked through the menu I saw the spicy hot wings and had to get them.  I didn't even think one second about it, I had to have them.  They were really yummy and I didn't even think they were spicy, which for me is quite the opposite because usually everything has some spicy-hotness taste to it.  While I sat there and at them people kept on commenting on how I wasn't going to get much sleep that night. But I was like, "oh well".  Well, that night when I laid down baby girl stated to kick.  It was like she was dancing...I was like, "Jeff you have got to feel this..."  and he did for another 15 min or so. The longest he has ever felt her move.  It was really cool for him to feel it.  I think he  might have even giggled...at the thought that there was a real human being in my tummy!
On the other hand Jeff and I have started to move towards getting the baby's room together.  We went and bought the paint at Lowes on Saturday.  Also, my mom and I finished the curtains this weekend (brown with white polka dots) so things have started to progress in that area.  We have decided to go with mainly sage green and dark brown with a splash of shades of pink.
Also, lets see I am 26 weeks.  Which means I have 14 weeks left.  Which is kind of crazy to think about.  And as I think about the future, I think about everything that I have to get done and ready in the next 14 weeks.  My teacher mind is on overdrive...  I have a lot to do, between getting ready for maternity leave and getting ready for the baby I will be busy.  I am sure thatit will all work out!  We are both excited.  Thats it for now!

25 weeks and Counting...

Baby Girl and I had another check up on Monday.  (Nov.24th) And everything is looking good. When Sharon (my midwife) was listening to baby Mabry's heart beat she kept on kicking.  So it sounded like boom, boom, boom, kick.. boom, boom, boom, kick.  The baby obviously, knew that there was something different around her.  Some say that when babies are in the womb, they can hear and feel all kinds of things.  But it was just funny to actually hear her kick...I have been feeling her for about a couple weeks now, kicking pretty strongly.  It comes and goes.. I will feel her kick for a min.  and than I wont feel her for a while.  But when I do it is like, wow, there is something in there.  And it is usually when I am laying down getting ready for bed or when I get up for the 2nd or 3rd time to pee during the night.  So it was a different type of feeling actually hearing her kick on Monday.  Speaking of kicking Jeff has finally felt her kick.  So that is kind of cool. Of course it isn't too strong yet.  But he felt it.  And I am sure as time goes on he will feel her more and more...So that is exciting.
Tomorrow I will be 25 weeks.  It is kind of crazy to think how far I am along in this whole process.  Right now they say that she is about 1 lb and 9 oz.  I have attached a picture from a website that kind of shows what she might look like in there right now.  Well, I guess sometime soon I will try and post the ultrasound pics from a couple weeks ago.  And also what Jeff and I are thinking about doing for her room and maybe event tell ya her name.  YEAH RIGHT...That is a whole other blog.  Names and how Jeff and I are having a rough time trying to figure it out...  We both have worked with too many kids... More to come later.

Maternity Clothes

Today I went to the mall for the first time in a long time.  And I observed a couple things about maternity clothes.  First of all if a pregnant woman walks into a department store looking for maternity clothes.  GOOD LUCK...And than when you finally ask someone where they are located. You find out they are by the petite clothes, the PETITE clothes.  Way to make a pregnant feel great about themselves! And/or they are located in some obscure corner behind the HUGE underwear or Double D BRAS.  GREAT!!!   Another thing that I have observed is every time I start looking at the maternity clothes I get discouraged at how "lovely" they are and decide not to get any at all.  SOOO...Right now my biggest problem is that I am 6 months pregnant next week and I am still trying to fit myself into my "normal clothes."  Now, I have bought a couple of pieces of maternity pieces clothes and I tend to ware them almost everyday.  However, it is tricky since I have to dress up so much for school.  But I still think that its hard to decide what I want to buy...So I just keep looking.. Anyone have any good places to look for baby mama clothes???
